What does this price show?

The FAO oilseeds price index follows international prices of soybeans, sunflower seed, rapeseed, linseed and copra, weighted by each one’s share of world exports in 2014–2016. It is a separate index, not part of the vegetable oil index. Base: the 2014–2016 average = 100; a value of 120 means prices are 20% above their average of those three years. FAO publishes it in its monthly oilseeds, oils and meals price update, about a week after the Food Price Index, so it runs a month behind.
